Behind the Bean:

Horizon, a washing station just 20km from Huye Mountain, in the Kigoma sector near the small town of Simbi, is one of the most beautiful sites in the Southern Province. The small, 3 hectare area lies at 1680masl, in a valley surrounded by steep slopes, with the farms surrounding it at much higher elevations of 2000 masl. Cherries are contributed to the station by 1200 farmers situated within 2km of it.

With a cupping score of 86, this coffee stays true to its African heritage, showcasing a distinctive flavour profile of tropical fruits, most notably granadilla and figs when brewed as a filter. As an espresso in milk-based drinks, it reveals a creamy, smooth granadilla yoghurt character, complemented by a rich, chocolatey finish.
